Are you bothered by age spots, sun spots, or acne scars? Do you wish your skin looked healthier? If you answered yes then Fraxel Re:store Laser Treatment could be for you.
Who Is It For?
This procedure is ideal for the treatment of acne scars, sun spots, melasma, age spots, wrinkles, surgery scars, and sun-damaged skin. If you suffer from one of these conditions then you may be a candidate for this procedure.
How Does It Work?
The Fraxel Re:store Dual laser is a 3rd generation Fraxel laser. It is used to precisely target microscopic areas of the skin, using focused laser columns, to eliminate old, damaged skin cells. Fraxel treatment stimulates the body’s own natural healing process which replaces damaged skin with fresh, glowing, healthy skin. Each treatment targets between 20-35% of the skin’s surface, leaving the remaining 65-80% available to heal the treated areas quickly and thoroughly.
When Will I See Results?
The results are progressive. With each treatment, you will start to see more and more of a difference. Your maximum results are generally evident from 2 to 6 months after your last laser treatment. This procedure produces great results but they are not instantaneous.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
To answer this question, we would need to do a consultation with you because everyone’s skin is different. Results vary but the average person will need 3 to 6 treatments.
What Can I Expect The Day Of My Procedure?
On the morning of your procedure, you should take any prescribed medications. The treatment area should be clean with no makeup or lotion of any kind applied. You will arrive 1 hour before your procedure so we can apply a topical anesthetic to make your procedure as comfortable as possible. Once the topical anesthetic has been on for an hour, your procedure will begin. Be prepared for your treatment to take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. The timing depends on the area being treated. You will be given a better idea of the time required at your consultation.
What Happens Afterwards?
After each treatment session, you can expect redness for up to a week, swelling for 48-72 hours, and dry or mild peeling to the skin for a week. Your skin may feel sunburned for an hour or so after the procedure and the use of ice packs can be helpful. You should sleep with your head elevated for a couple of nights to reduce swelling. Also, be sure to wear sunscreen. While this is always a good idea, it’s especially important after a laser treatment. Use gentle moisturizers and cleansers and avoid retinoids and glycolic acids for one week.
The other thing that happens afterward is that you will begin to see the results. This can cause an increase in confidence and satisfaction with your appearance.
